Parts of Speech
There are eight parts of Speech in English Language : noun , pronoun , verb , adverb, adjective, conjunction and interjection. Some modern grammars add determiner as well. The part of speech shows how the word functions in meaning as well as grammatically within the sentence.

Verb
A word which shows an action or state.

Adverb
It adds or modify the meaning of verb , adjective or another Adverb in a sentence.

too quickly, luckily
Adjective
It modifies the meaning of noun and pronoun.
Tall ,short, pretty, yellow,
heavy, light, big
Preposition
It is used before a noun or pronoun to show direction, time, place and location.
In, on, into, under, below,
beneath, behind, Infront of
Conjunction
It is used to join words, phrases and clauses.
For, and, but, nor, or,
Yet, so
Interjection
It is used to express feelings and emotions.
Sign of exclaimation ! is also used .

Noun
Naming anything is called noun.
Or
Noun is the name of the person, place, thing or an idea.
Examples

1 Rana is a good boy.
2 He lives in Karachi.
3 He likes to drive a car.
Here the words Rana , boy , Karachi and car are nouns.
Noun can be used as a subject or object.
In the. above examples
The noun Rana is used as a subject and the words boy , Karachi and car are used as object.
