Definition
Phrase is a group of words which makes sense, but not complete sense is called a phrase. It has neither subject nor verb.
Examples
1 He loves to read books.
2. He is a man of wisdom.
3 The cat is under the table.
4. He has a chain of silver.
5 The sunsets in the west.

Adjective phrase
An Adjective Phrase is a group of words that does the work of an adjective.
Examples
1 A dog with a white skin.
2. A crown made of gold.
3 A girl with brown eyes.
4 The flag Of Pakistan.
5 She is a girl without friend.
Adverb Phrase
An adverb Phrase is a group of words that does the work of an adverb.
An adverb Phrase like an adverb may modify also an adjective or an adverb.
Examples
1. Emma ran at a great speed.
2.He tried with all effort.
3 She wears a dress in a beautiful style.
4 Sara behaves in a good manner.
Noun Phrase
A Noun Phrase is a group of words that does the work of a Noun.
1 He hopes to get the first position.
2. I want to go home 🏘️.
3. He loves to issue harsh order.
4 she likes playing cricket.
Clause
1 He has a chain which is made of gold.
2 The Chair which has broken handle is mine.
3 The bell rang when I reached.
Clause is the group of words which forms a part of sentence , and contains a subject and predicate is called a clause. It contains dependent and independent clauses.
Examples
1. You may sit wherever you like.
2 The umbrella Which has broken handle is mine.
3 I expect that I shall get a prize.

Adjective Clause
An Adjective Clause is a group of words which has a subject and predicate of its own and does the work of an Adjective. It usually begins with a relative pronoun such as Who , whom, that, which and whose
For instance
1. The dog that bites doesn't bark.
2. People who eat too much die early.
3. I met the woman whose son helped me.
4. He is the man whom we all respect.
5 These are the colour pencils which I want to buy.
2 Adverb Clause
An Adverb Clause is a group of words which does the work of an Adverb. It usually begins with a subordinating conjunctions such as, after, because, until, where, while, unless, as, when , since, if , though , wherever.
Examples
1. We shall Wait here until you come.
2. Do it before you forget.
3. I do it because I choose it.
4. Since you have already decided, why do you ask my opinion?
5. I will not go out if it rains.
Noun Clause
A Noun Clause is a group of words which does the work of a Noun and it has its own subject and predicate. It serves as a subject , an object. Noun Clause begins with words such as how , that, what , whatever , when , where, which, who, whom, whoever, whose or why.
Examples
1. The class discussed what they should make for the fun fair.
2. I fear that I shall die.
3 No one knows who he is.
4. I earn whatever I can.
5 I know where I can find it.
